Oils and greases are lubricants for machine tools and their drives, based on mineral oil or hydrocarbons. Selected lubricants which are adapted to the requirements of the machine tools and take the requirements of occupational health and safety into consideration within the currently valid ordinance on hazardous substances as well as the used coolant and its disposal.
Due to the behavior of the oil industry, dpi Metalworking® was asked to offer its customers lubricants that meet the relevant regulations of the professional associations, the requirements of the new (currently valid) ordinance on hazardous substances as well as the newest EU directives.
For quite some time it has been asked that lubricants cannot be brought into the cooling lubricant circuits and do not represent an increased risk of cancer for the machine operator and its working environment. Should this happen, the leaks and drag-ins must not be combined with the cooling lubricants or even create an emulsion. Because of this, lubricants which are not emulsified in water should be used for central lubrication, hydraulics and other control units. If a machine manufacturer does not recommended lubricants according to DIN or ISO standards but brand names, they should be tested for "non" emulsifiability before their use.
